Email Migration
UPDATE 2022-06-08: We may be able to keep our Google email by registering as a Nonprofit .
- Pastor will begin creating email accounts at our new hosting provider (a2hosting.com) the same as our previous emails. If you want your password to be the same, you'd have to give it to Pastor.
- Prior to email migration, users can either give Pastor their passwords or type it into a secure terminal to start copying old emails from the old Gmail provider to the new provider. This is not necessary for migration but will make it happen faster, especially for those of us with big archives.
- Email will continue arriving in your Gmail mygoodshepherd.net inbox until migration is complete. Email that has already been received will continue to be available there for the next couple months.
- On Friday after 5pm on, June TK, the host will be changing over from Gmail to our website host provider. This may take up to 48 hours to be complete but during that time, emails should either go to your gmail webmail or your new account.
- After the hosting switch has completed, all new emails will go to your email account at our new provider. These can be accessed by going to https://webmail.mygoodshepherd.net. When you first login there, there will be a landing page that gives you two different options for accessing your webmail, Roundcube or Horde. You can try them both without messing anything up. Roundcube has a more modern look. There are also instructions for accessing your mail through an app like Outlook, or directly in your phone's Mail app. If you previously relied on the Gmail app, you'll have to either use webmail on your phone or your phone's Mail app. Whenever you don't need to see this landing page anymore, click the box by "Open my inbox when I log in" and the next time you go to your webmail, it'll go straight to your inbox.
